Hey everyone! I missed the last episode of the Aqua series, and the current one is definitely due. 😀
So without further ado, here is Episode 6; a much shorter episode today. Episode 7 will be coming next week, and is slightly longer, so stay tuned for that!
We spent the day doing two main things—one of which I will get to later. One of the first things we did was work on our service projects!
Remember how I’ve been working on Turning the Tide? Well, that’s what I was researching on! We were preparing for a big event coming up in June—World Ocean’s Day! 😀
Basically, each organization will have a booth and we will hopefully be able to each get our message out there! In my case, I’ll be explaining the effect of pollution (mainly plastic) and showing what we are doing. After a bit of research, I came up with several ideas to enhance the booth, including business cards, art made by Turning the Tide, and even a painting people can decorate with plastic bottle caps, each labeled with their name.
I’m proud of the latter; should be very cool! 😀
We did several things throughout the day, but I’m going to skip ahead to one of our last events—a dolphin skeleton!
We learned about our art project, which will be focusing on the local dolphin research program. So, the theme that day was dolphins. So they gave us a box full of various pieces of the skeleton, and we tried to put it together like a puzzle. It was very interesting to see the bones fit together and lock to make a flexible yet strong skeleton. 🙂
We then exited the building and headed back to our classroom, concluding the class.
I apologize for the shorter post today—next week’s should be a bit longer. 😀
